The PEPR O2R, Inria, CNRS, Centrale Lille and the University of Lille are joining forces to organize the 2026 summer school. During one week, participants will attend lectures and practical sessions on the fundamental concepts (modelling, simulation and control) necessary for the use of deformable materials in soft robotics, continuum robotics, hybrid rigid/deformable robotics as well as in rigid robotics interacting with a deformable environment.

In this context, Alice Jarry and Sofian Audry present REGEN: Material and Computational Reciprocity in Dialogue with Plant Ecosystems.
The presentation addresses the conceptual and methodological foundations of this five year interuniversity and international research-creation project.  Focusing on plant regeneration and its implications for artistic creation, the project investigates how adaptive artworks developed at the crossroads of biodesign, reinforcement learning (RL), and soft robotics can generate regenerative operations with, for, and from plants and their environments.
