Elsa Donovan is a graduate researcher studying biodesign and synthetic biology at the Learning Planet Institute in Paris. During her stay at the Speculative Life Biolab, Elsa Donovan established a protocol for bioprinting hydrogels that contain Chlorella vulgaris and Synechococcus elongatus (cyanobacteria).
Exploring their potential in bio-photovoltaics, she examined how variations in the printed geometry of the encapsulated organisms influence measurable photosynthetic electron output. In addition to this research, Elsa Donovan produced an operating manual for the lab, which will contribute to building research around our Eazao Bio printer.
