PANACEA materializes transfeminine vitality through semi-living sculptural artifacts, exploring how bodies navigate and disrupt medical-industrial systems of classification and control. Jacqueline Beaumont’s exhibition considers the space between categories such as pathology and personhood, treatment and survival, life and non-life.
The works use transformation and material instability to challenge the demand for bodies to fit into fixed systems. Rather than treating the body as a stable or resolved object, PANACEA presents it as changing, relational, and capable of generating its own forms of care.

This emphasis on embodied encounter extends into the exhibition’s touch tours, which invite audiences to experience the works through touch, smell, and dialogue. Originally developed for visually impaired audiences and expanded to a broader public, the tours foreground direct physical engagement as a mode of encountering sculptural work.
Through semi-living materials, sensory engagement, and speculative forms of care, PANACEA asks how material practices might create space for bodies and experiences that resist institutional categorization.
